Even the best courses, why it costs you money, and how to avoid spending more than you need to.

A brief history…

Following up on my previous rant on changes coming up. I seem to try to slow down the endless days of isolation due to the pandemic and push myself to be more productive at home. I know going forward I am going to need to supplement my income to a manageable level without giving up more than I already have.

For the past year, I dove deep into the online world looking at websites, funnels, and affiliate marketing trying to stake my claim to this cacophony of endless sales promotions.

From the start…

The first thing I come across was Click Funnels by Russel Brunson. I had watched a video of his and done some background checking, finding out that he had a huge business of providing sales funnels of all types to a regular person like you and me.

In reading one of his promotional letters, he enticed me to give it a try and before I knew it I enrolled in his One Funnel Away Challenge. He boasted that he would teach me with his software how to build a proper Sales Funnel. He also stated that he had the resources to offer online guidance in real-time to help me do that. That one statement sold me on the offer so I signed up.

What I found out…

Everything Russel Brunson told me was true. I watched his numerous videos and when I had to I would re-watch them again. Slowly but surely I learned how to build a funnel from scratch. I could also use one of his done-for-you funnels and change it to my own if I wanted.

When I was done I felt that I was just missing something to make his software work for me. What was it? I tried a number of things with Click Funnels that didn’t produce sales. He was adamant that you had to spend a significant amount of money to achieve success, but I wasn’t convinced. It was not because of the software or what he taught, it just was something that was missing. I knew I needed to learn more.

Next step…

In my daily routine of opening emails looking at advertisements etc. I came across an email from Anthony Morrison. He had enticed me months back through a Facebook ad and I had clicked on it for more information and I assumed that was how he got my email.

I deleted his first three emails to me and maybe more. Around the seventh email, I finally decided to see what he was all about. Again I researched who he was and he seemed to be a legitimate seller of online courses and he was making me an incredible offer.

For under ten dollars a month, he would teach me all about online Affiliate Marketing in an easy-to-follow, unlimited time limit course, to get me launched. How could I refuse? It seemed that this was what I was looking for.

I enrolled and I was again pleasantly surprised that he delivered what he was advertising. He was always talking about his achievements, which at times got to me, but I guess it was part of the game because Russel Brunson did this as well. Never the less the courses slowly helped me build, step by step an affiliate marketing website, that included autoresponders, redirects, and a bit of knowledge on advertising. With my experience with Click Funnels and this new knowledge of Anthony Morrison’s Affiliate Marketing, I felt closer to my goal. Still, I felt that I was missing something. The feeling not as strong as before but it was still there at the back of my mind. I don’t know about you but the way I work best is if I have complete knowledge of what I am doing and how something works, for me to feel right. So I guess I have not achieved that yet.
