Are you ready for the change?

The title is not very catchy but it gets my point across. As we, (pick any G7 country), come out of, I hope, what is the worst catastrophe to hit mankind, I have come to realize that what I have been suspicious of for most of my adult life has come to be. Who have we put in charge?

As governments deal with returning to running their nation, I wonder what is to become of the people. I am talking about anyone who is not a 1 percenter that was surviving the rat race before covid.

You see many people like me, were making ends meet maybe through a low-paying job, or retirement, and having a little legitimate income on the side. Living by, paying the bills, going out to eat once every couple of weeks, and enjoying their daily lives. You can use this scenario and put it on an income scale and move it up and down to fit your situation.

In the aftermath of this Pandemic, you find the depth of your personal financial pool, has gotten drained by over half. For a period of time when all the governments were in a mess and everything was in turmoil, we kept ourselves informed by listening to a President or Prime Minister who in most cases didn’t take this virus seriously, and a superpower that lied and hid the origins of this virus to protect its reputation with no regard to the 99 percenters (us).

We basically had no emergency measures in place and no understanding of how to handle this unprecedented size of an emergency on any scale. I don’t want to recap the situation by telling you what you already know, but we were all up sh…t’s creek without a paddle.

Now, the economy shuts down due to the pandemic. Your low-paying or average job may have made it through the virus or maybe not. The job you were hired for could have changed your duties without permission and definitely the little side income you had going disappeared. Stress and worries have taken place over a content lifestyle. Again you can pick this scenario and put it on an income scale and move it up and down to fit your situation.

As a result in some places, the government stepped in and provided financial measures that for lack of a better word supplemented some of these losses (not enough as many people acclaim). As the Nations are starting to open up their economies there are still many unknowns as we move forward and some of us are not doing so good with that.

At some point, you will be adrift in a world that has yet to figure out what will work and the government will be telling you or forcing you to follow it’s directives to Survive. Most 99 percenters have never been exposed to having to make choices like that, and now find that they/we are in a game of Survivor.

Many businesses have closed and will never open again. New businesses are wary of starting up because of the new challenges they will be facing after the pandemic. Will money be available? With the one-percenters making the rules and changing the landscape how will they directly impact you? Cryptocurrencies and Mega software companies are the movers and shakers for the next while, all working to get their hands in your pockets at every level of the Survivor game. They are stronger than most countries! Can you afford to spin the wheel and win consistently or will you stagnate at a level you never had to deal with?

I myself am dealing with this maze of magical opportunities as I try to rebound to the pre-pandemic financial position I was in. I have a couple of online businesses and have been trying to self-teach myself so I can attain the outcome that I want to achieve. This is a story for another rant. Stay tuned for more…
